Poshan Maah – 2026
Poshan Maah is an annual public awareness campaign aimed at addressing malnutrition among children and promoting awareness about nutrition among pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescents and children.
As part of Poshan Maah, a programme was organised at Koottilangadi Grama Panchayat on 22 September 2026. The programme focused on creating awareness about the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet for the healthy growth and development of children. It also provided the public with an opportunity to learn about the variety and nutritional value of food provided to children through Anganwadis.
A major attraction of the programme was the nutrition exhibition organised by Anganwadi Helpers. Various food items served to children, their nutritional benefits and age-appropriate food practices were displayed and explained. The importance of including locally available nutritious foods such as cereals, pulses, vegetables, fruits and eggs in children's diets was also highlighted.
The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Rasna Muneer, President, Koottilangadi Grama Panchayat, and presided over by Shri. Mansoor, Vice President. Standing Committee members, elected representatives, ICDS Supervisors, Community Women Facilitator and Anganwadi workers participated in the programme.
The programme highlighted the importance of nutrition in the physical and mental development of children and emphasised the role of Anganwadis in strengthening nutrition and health awareness among children and families.
The active participation of Anganwadi workers and the attractive display of nutritious food items made the programme informative and meaningful. The event conveyed the important message that “Nutrition – Healthy Childhood – Strong Community” is a shared responsibility and an essential foundation for building a healthy future generation.
