Anti-Drug Public Awareness Campaign

Together for a Drug-Free Society

Drug use and the spread of narcotic substances are major social concerns that affect the health, safety and future of society. Coordinated efforts are essential to protect children and young people from the harmful effects of drugs and to strengthen anti-drug awareness in the community.

With this objective, anti-drug public awareness activities are being organised under the leadership of Local Self Government Institutions as part of the state-level Operation Toofan 2.0 campaign.

What is Operation Toofan 2.0?

Operation Toofan 2.0 is a public awareness initiative aimed at ensuring active public participation in anti-drug activities and strengthening anti-drug interventions at the local level.

Combating drug abuse is not the responsibility of government agencies alone. A strong social response against drugs can be built only through the collective participation of families, educational institutions, young people, elected representatives, various organisations, volunteers and the general public.

Key Objectives

The major objectives of Operation Toofan 2.0 are to strengthen public awareness against drug abuse, encourage the participation of different sections of society and organise continuous anti-drug activities at the local level.

Major Activities

As part of the campaign, importance is given to organising and promoting the following activities and ensuring that information about these activities reaches the public:

🛡️ Anti-Drug Activities
🚩 Toofan Flag Hoisting
🤝 Toofan Warriors Activities
🏘️ Toofan Gram Sabha
📢 Public Awareness Activities
📣 Anti-Drug Awareness Campaigns

Public Participation

The awareness and cooperation of every family and every citizen are essential for making anti-drug activities effective.

Families and communities should remain vigilant and should not ignore noticeable changes in the behaviour, friendships, education or lifestyle of children and young people.

Openly discussing the harmful effects of drugs with children and young people, encouraging healthy lifestyles and promoting positive social interactions are important components of anti-drug activities.

12-Month Follow-up Activities

Operation Toofan 2.0 is not intended to be limited to a one-day programme. Information regarding the 12-month follow-up activities undertaken as part of the campaign will also be made available to the public.

News, photographs and videos of various activities conducted under the campaign will be published and regularly updated on the official website of Koottilangadi Grama Panchayat.
